Siripit is the Head of the English Programme. She was born in Songkla Province in the South. She has been in Education for the past 32 years and has been at Srithammarat Suksa School for the last 30 years. The English Programme started in 2000 and she has always been at the forefront. Teacher Siripit was an English teacher in the regular primary English department from 1977 to 1999. She likes to work here because she’s always had an interest in the English language and it gives her so much satisfaction to watch the students develop their language skills while they are studying within the program. She says she is lucky enough to have a beautiful facility with which an informal yet academic atmosphere has developed. She says she has a wonderful team working with her now. As part of her interest in English, she has done a lot of travelling. She has been to the USA, and was an AFS exchange teacher in Australia. She also encourages some of her Thai students to take the opportunity to study abroad.
Teacher JJ (Jonathan Brownlee)-Head of Foreign Faculty
Teacher JJ is an American teacher and Business major. Teacher JJ has been in Thailand and teaching at Srithammarat Suksa Christian School since 2002. After serving as head of the English Programme for several years, he returned to America to further his studies and let his daughter study in American schools. His love for Thailand and Srithammarat Suksa led him to return as the Academic Advisor for the secondary program, and has since come back to be the head of staff. He loves family, teaching, socializing and sports. He encourages his staff to know, love and understand Thailand, and Thai people the way he does and experience all that it has to offer. He has taught in America, Guam, Hong Kong and China as well as Thailand. Teacher JJ loves teaching at a Christian School with such a dedicated, fun, and friendly staff.
Secondary
Teacher Berret-Lead Teacher Secondary / English Teacher Grades 7 – 9
Teacher Berret is from Louisiana, in the southern part of the United States of America. She has lived in Thailand for several years now and this is her fifth year of teaching English in Thailand. Nakhon Sri Thammarat was her first home when she started teaching. She lived here for one year and then she decided to travel to some other parts of Thailand. After 2 years of working in other Thai cities she decided that she missed her first Thai home and wanted to return to Nakhon. This is Berret’s second year of teaching at AMC and she’s really excited to work with some of the same students and teachers as well as new ones this year! When she’s not teaching, Berret loves to travel to new places around Thailand and beyond. She also enjoys reading, aerobics, cooking, and eating delicious Thai food!
Mac Hagen – Social Studies Grades 7 – 12
Prior to coming to Srithammarat Suksa, Mac Hagen was a teacher in Southern California and the Bay area. He has five years teaching experience primarily in inner city schools and loves the change in venue to beautiful, sunny Thailand. The warmth from the weather is preceded only by the generosity of the Thai people. His interests include fast paced motorcycle rides, Thai hip-hop, cooking, and curriculum and design.
Angelo Bonadonna – Mathematics Grades 7-9
Angelo graduated from Saint Xavier University in Chicago in 2008 with a BA in Psychology, a BA in Mass Communications, and a minor in Math. He arrived in Thailand just in time for the beginning of the 2010 school year. He is teaching Mathematics in the English Programme to grades 7, 8, and 9. Angelo decided he needed to come back to explore Asia after a backpacking trip through India in the summer of 2009. He says, “I love Chicago and will always consider it my home, but for me there is nothing more exciting than traveling around Thailand right now and my great job at Srithammarat Suksa gives me the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children while having a blast thousands of miles from home.”
Stuart Davidson-Science Grades 7-9
This is Stuart Davidson’s first year at Srithammarat Suksa Christian School and he is very excited to be teaching Grade 7, 8, and 9 Science. Although he is a long way away from his home in Ottawa, Canada, Stuart is enjoying the people, culture, and natural beauty of Thailand. Stuart graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. His interests include neuroscience, pinball and arcade machines, music, and traveling. Stuart looks forward to an exciting and educational year, not just for his students, but also for himself.
Teacher Katy – Science/Math/Health Grades 10-12
Teacher Katy is the newest member to the “Matayom Suksa” (secondary) program. This is Katy’s first time teaching in Thailand and she is thrilled to be teaching Science, for which she has a great passion. Katy has a degree in Biology and is happy to be in such a challenging position. Although she has only been here a few days (at the time of writing) she has had “so much fun and experienced so many new things. I’m really going to love this place.”
Douglas Miller – Regular Program Instructor
Teacher Doug is a 53-year-old English teacher from Western Massachusetts, USA, who has taught ESL to Grade 5, 6, and 7 students for over 12 years in Taiwan. He fills the English Program field component while serving as the native-speaking instructor for Srithammarat Suksa’s main student body, teaching in all the Grade 6 and Grade 7 classes in the regular program. He has also lived in Thailand for over 2 years. He loves teaching his Regular Program students.
Primary
Brooke Reckett – Lead Teacher, Primary G3 Homeroom
Teacher Brooke is an American and has been teaching both grades 2 and grades 3 here at Srithammarat Suksa. She loves helping the students with their English skills and is very interested in different teaching styles and approaches. She has recently taken the position of Lead Teacher and loves working with such a diverse team.
Simon Pinard – Grade 1A Homeroom Teacher
Simon is from Québec. He majored in Political Science in the Université du Québec à Montréal. He’s been living in Thailand for over 3 years. He is married to a wonderful Thai lady, and has a young son, Felix. Throughout his young career in teaching, Teacher Simon experienced teaching mainly younger elementary students, being either a Science teacher to grades 1, 2 and 3, or a homeroom teacher to grade 1 and 3. Teacher Simon is student-oriented, and his goal is to share knowledge with all thirsty young souls.
Lydia Cooper – Grade 1B Homeroom Teacher
Lydia Cooper has been working at Srithammarat Suksa since March 2010. She enjoys working with Thai children and seeing the unique ways in which each student learns. She has been working with young children for more than 10 years. Her first job was teaching at a preschool in the afternoons after school when she was 16 years old. Before coming to Thailand, she taught in South Korea for two years, where she was the lead foreign teacher in the preschool program at the school in which she taught. She came to Thailand because she loves the beautiful natural scenery and the Thai people’s hospitality
Joe Vanderhyde–Grade 2A Homeroom Teacher
Teacher Joe has an MA in English and he teaches in the primary program at Sithammarat Suksa. He previously taught Grade 1 at an international primary school in Shanghai, China and Writing and Composition at Kansas State University. He likes how his students are always excited to learn new things and he likes Thailand because the people here really know how to relax and enjoy their lives.
Steve Baker – Grade 2B Homeroom Teacher
Steve has a BA degree in Development Studies, specializing in Indian history. He has a long interest in Asian culture and has been teaching in Thailand for six years. After teaching in Bangkok for two and a half years as a Grade 2 homeroom teacher he enjoyed the challenge of Grades 4, 5, and 6 at Srithammarat Suksa last year but says he is now, “over the moon”, to be back as Grade 2B’s new foreign homeroom teacher. He hopes he can help Thailand to continue its development in the global community.
Francesca Lokes – Grade 4 Homeroom Teacher
Teacher Frankie teaches grade 4 English, and has a Bachelors degree in History and Philosophy. Originally from New Zealand, she has been living in Nakhon Sri Thammarat for about 8 months and loves the people, and especially the children so much she never wants to leave!
Teacher Daniel – English Teacher, Grades 5 & 6
Teacher Daniel has recently returned to Thailand and teaching at Srithammarat Suksa Christian School. After teaching at Srithammarat Suksa for three years he returned to America to further his studies. He loves Thailand and Srithammarat Suksa so he decided to return as the English teacher for 5th and 6th grades in the primary program. He loves sports, teaching and animals. Teacher Daniel has BA in Spanish from San Francisco State University and a CELTA teaching certificate. He has also taught in Korea.
Teacher Marie-Computer and Art Teacher, Grades 1-6
Marianka Sieberhagen left a career in Graphic Design to further her dream to teach in Asia.” I love children and feel immensely privileged to have the opportunity to teach Art and Computer Science.” Teaching these subjects enable her to bestow her knowledge gained from the industry to the students at Srithammarat Suksa School. Teaching in Asia has taught her a lot about the Asian culture and made her more aware of a child’s much valued opinion. “ We learn from each other.”
Teacher David – Science Grades 4-6, Math Grade 6
Teacher David came to Srithammarat Suksa in 2007, after 3 years teaching in the North of Thailand. Before coming to the “Land of Smiles” David gathered more than 25 years of experience as an educator in Australia. This year David is teaching Science to Grades 4, 5 and 6 as well as Grade 6 Mathematics. He is also the Grade 6 homeroom teacher. David holds a BA in English and a Diploma of Education, as well as a TEFL Certificate.

Jeremiah Adam – Math Grades 4 & 5
Jeremiah came to Thailand from Alberta, Canada but he grew up in Southern Ontario, Canada and Northern Minnesota, USA. He has been teaching at Srithammarat Suksa for over 2 years and plans to stay here for a few more years. Jeremiah has recently gotten married to another teacher in the English Program. When he’s not at school he is usually busy studying university courses online; he plans to one day complete a Master’s degree in Psychology. In his free time he enjoys photography, cycling, Ultimate Frisbee, swimming, exercising, reading fiction and watching movies.
Kindergarten
Teacher Lyn – Anuban, Lead teacher, K2/2
Lyn moved to Thailand with her husband in 1992. She holds a BA in English, Certificate in Early Childhood Development and a TEFL Certificate. Lyn has been teaching in both bilingual and international schools in Pattaya since 1992. In 2009 Lyn and her family relocated to Nakhonsrithammarat, her husband’s home town, to work with a new church plant. Lyn took up a position as a kindergarten teacher at Srithammarat Suksa in July 2009. Lyn loves living in the country side after being in an overpopulated city for so long. She loves seeing the mountains as she drives to school each day. Lyn is hooked on rice and Thai food and can’t live without them!
Amy Anderson – Anuban Teacher, K1/3
Amy Anderson is currently one of three K1 teachers working in our ever-expanding Anuban department. She first left England five years ago to travel in SE Asia and fell in love with Thailand’s people and culture. She quickly decided that Thailand was the place to be, so came back to live and ultimately settle. She is now married with a beautiful baby girl! Amy is in her fourth year here at Srithammarat Suksa, working with K1. She says, “I love it! It’s my job to look after the really young ones who are 3, turning 4. We’re teaching them English while introducing the many other skills needed to succeed happily in school. We’re helping to develop their social, behavioral and emotional skills as well. It is a challenge, there’s no denying that… but we have so much fun along the way, and to see their development throughout the year is simply astounding.”
Jane Cradick – Anuban Teacher, K1/2
Jane is 25 years old and is from England. She has been teaching children for 4 years and has taught in the UK, China and Thailand. She came to Thailand in September 2009 where she volunteered in two schools near Bangkok and decided to stay as she fell in love with Thailand. Jane has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama, Theatre and Media and has also completed a TEFL course as well as a NVQ in Childcare, Learning and Development. Jane has a great passion for teaching young children and finds her job thoroughly rewarding.
Susan Colley - Anuban Teacher, K1/1
Sue Colley is currently one of three K1 teachers working in our Anuban department. She first came to Thailand almost three years ago and loves the people and culture of this country. This is her first year in Anuban and she is just loving every minute of it – the kids are so lovely to work with. They learn a lot whilst having a great deal of fun in the process.
Teacher Jim – Anuban Teacher, K2/1
Jim Eckett teaches in the English Program’s Kindergarten 2 class. He came to Thailand from Centerview, Missouri (about 45 minutes east of Kansas City, Missouri). He completed his Bachelor’s in International Business and International Relations in July of 2009, and finished a semester of graduate school for TESOL, before coming to Thailand in January of 2010. During his undergraduate studies, Jim was a teacher for “at-risk” preschool children from poverty or violence stricken homes through Americorp of Columbia, Missouri as well as a volunteer reader for local school districts in Columbia, Missouri. He was also a substitute teacher while in graduate school. Jim finds the energy and patience it takes to be a teacher in the “anuban” challenging, and is constantly inspired to see how quickly little kids learn so much.
Teacher Nadia – Anuban Teacher, K3/1
Nadia is one of the newest members of our team. She has just completed her TEFL Certificate and is happy to be working with great team members where she can learn and share together. She is thrilled with the happy, interesting, lovely children in the Kindergarten 3 class.
Kaitlyn Poisson – Anuban Teacher, K3/2
Kaitlyn Poisson is a Canadian currently teaching K3 within the school’s Anuban department. She is a recent university graduate, having achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Media Studies and a minor in Psychology. Kaitlyn is grateful to live and travel in such a beautiful country, full of amazing culture and many smiles.
