Srithammarat would like to wish everyone a happy Thai Fathers’ Day, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As you can see December is a month with many holidays and lots of activities! We have had Fathers’ Day celebration and vacation. We will be having constitution day vacation. We will then be practicing for Christmas shows and then Christmas vacation! What a great month!
November was packed full and all students are off to a great start with good all around EV 1 scores. We would also like to say thanks to all the 500+ participants in the English Contest. Srithammarat had many great students, but several other school did very well and even better than ours. Great job to all the students from the southern provinces of Thailand.

October Update

October is our Mid-Term break and it was a great one! The students and teachers all returned on the 26th with so many great stories and good attitudes. We are preparing a new page for the website so that teachers may share their experiences here while on vacation. We hope it will be up and running soon. With all the great travel opportunities the new page should be a good place to see what is around Sithammarat Suksa School, Thailand and Southeast Asia as a whole.

The students were also busy during the break with many students going to Bangkok and other places to take placement tests and sit practicals.
There was also a great school trip to Ko Samui Where the students and Thai staff had a great time relaxing together and doing “tourist” style activities. Although it was meant as a fun trip it was also very educational for both the Thai teachers and students. Everyone seemed to have a great time and we are looking forward to the next school trip to Chang Mai. It is a wonderful blessing to be able to travel together as a school with teachers and students in a fun environment that is so enjoyable for everyone. Please have a look at the photo gallery to see a few of the pictures and fun time we had.

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

We pray everyone has had a great mid-term vacation and are well rested and excited for the new term. Term 2 started today, Oct 26, and will run through mid-March. It is always a fun, exciting and fast term. So jump in and keep up the great work!

We look forward to any write ups about the awesome vacations I’ve heard so much about. So many teachers doing so many fabulous things like elephant camp, wake board parks, tropical island parties, river rafting, trekking, mountain biking,  Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Japan, Indonesia.  Thailand is truly an awesome place, and now with all the budget carriers, all of Asia is easily assessable.

The students will be sharing their vacation stories as well in the form of school projects and poster boards for decorating classrooms. We look forward to hearing all those stories (in English) and working together once again.

Keep an I on the website for updates and let us know what you like and what you don’t.

Coming up this term are University entrance exams, O-Net,  NTs, EP show, tutoring, activity day plus a slew of holidays (yeah).

Term 2 Teaching Positions

Srithammarat Christian School would like to thank all the visiting job seekers for the great response to our job advertisement. All the current positions have been filled. We have been blessed to have many teachers from previous years interested in returning to work with us. We think this bodes well for the school and our students and sets a great example for other English Programs in our area. We have had so many great resumes and would just like to say thank you to all who applied and good luck in the future.

August update

What a month August has been! We’ve had Fun Runs, Mother’s Day, E.P Family Sports Day, Summer Camps, EV 3, Art Contests, English Contests, Debate contests and much more.

Mother’s Day was held at school on the 12th of August and was a beautiful morning ceremony. The whole auditorium was full of mothers, as this was the first year the English Program invited all mothers from grades k1-G12. It was truly amazing. It was capped by grade 9 student Tangwa’s tear bringing speech about how much she loves her mother and how much her mother has given her. Even though they aren’t from a rich family, her mother works three jobs so she can come to the English Program. Mothers and students alike were proud to be invited to such a nice ceremony.

After the mothers’ Day ceremony was E.P Family Sport Day. We played basketball, underwear relay, eggplant/orange relay, water-balloon pass and many more fun games. It was fun for everyone and we had great teacher involvement. Just look at the pictures and the laughs we had. And then off for another 4 day weekend, again!

This month Srithammarat Suksa English Program participated and won several different contests. About 30 different students won separate contests. We are so proud of each student and their achievements. Without mentioning real names, 2 of the best students won serious competitions. One grade 12 student, Fuse, won a debate contest at a local university against university and high school students from all over the south of Thailand. Great job! And one Grade 3 student, Ploy or “Super Ploy” went to a national English and Science contest in Bangkok and is now in the top 10 of the country(out of 997 that came out of only the top 1000 invited) and will go for the final stages next month. TOP 10 IN THE COUNTRY! She is truly an AMAZING STUDENT and we wish her all the luck she probably doesn’t need. The school is truly blessed to have so many amazing students.

EV 3 grades are going home on the 31st. Then it will be time to start reviewing for final tests! WOW term 1 is almost over.

Next Month-Get ready for Final Exams, Revival week, Provencal sports competition results, AND MID-TERM VACATION,,YEAHH!!!!

What a fabulous month it has been!

A few weeks ago, we had a wonderful “Wai Kru” Day. Which is a day where Thai students pay respect to their teachers.

The students do this by crawling up and giving the teachers a bundle of flowers they have made/gathered and do the traditional Thai “Wai”. This was a beautiful morning celebration and as always brought an awesome cultural understanding to all the new foreign teachers involved. Thai students and the Thai public have a deeply rooted respect for the education system and educators. It is always an amazing celebration to take part in. Teacher Brooke, gave a great speech about her years teaching in Thailand, and how different it is teaching here than in her native America. We will all be looking forward to this ceremony again next year. We have also had parent / teacher meetings for all the grade levels. It was nice to meet the parents behind our wonderful students. It was also great to the parents to meet all the new staff and give there concerns for the new school year. We hope that all parents will want to know and be apart of their child’s journey with us in the English Program. We had our annual “E.P. Teachers Relationship dinner” where all the E.P teachers, Thai and Forgien, got together to enjoy a wonderful meal and play some fun games. Even the director came out to join us in the musical chairs and balloon popping festivities. Although we get to play together a lot at work, it is always fun time and a great reason for good food! We have just finished our first round of evaluation testing and are busy realizing that mid-term is right around the corner. Thanks to all the teachers for their hard work! July is coming with may holidays, Sport Day, Mid-Term, and Field trips! So stay tuned for more updates, and have a look at our Gallery for all the pictures! God Bless Everyone!
